The clock on his phone read 3 am when Adrian finally woke up from his slumber. He had fallen asleep at his desk while reading literature about the history of dressage at about 7 pm. It wasn't a surprise that he would fall asleep while reading to he had set his alarm. Most would think him quite the odd one to fall asleep at 7 and wake up at 3, but he had to get some riding done before the others woke up. Other horses in the arena distracted Rodney from his best performances and Adrian hated having the feeling of eyes on his back as he went around the ring. So 3 am was the time of choice for this wonderful Friday morning ride.
Hair stuck up at all angles as he rubbed the sleep out of his eyes and stood up. Hand grazed through his hair as he walked toward his closet and threw on a long sleeve blue thermal with light jeans, his black boots, and some dog tags he had received as a gift from his aunt. His outfit wasn't meant to be stylish, just practical. All the other residents of Gemara would not see him because by the time they had just woken up, he would be headed back to his apartment getting ready for a nap.
Rodney was standing look out his stall when Adrian arrived at 4 am. He knew that it was time for business so he almost seemed to be waiting for Adrian as he appeared. After pulling the stud out and putting him into the cross ties, Adrian went straight for the tack room. The smell of leather hit his nose and he inhaled deeply, reaching for the old, worn saddle that he owned for training use only. The saddle had belong to his father and was given to Adrian as sort of a coming of age gift. Needless to say, he still used it. He dragged it back to a prancing Rodney who swung his butt towards one side of the aisle to peer back at Adrian who placed the saddle roughly on his back.
The arena was completely silent when the two entered. A lunge rope in the hand of Adrian as he sent the steed around on his way. The brute lunged forward at a gallop then slowed to a light trot as he made his way around the circle. "Steady Rod." Adrian cooed softly to the stud. Another reason why he enjoyed being in by himself, he could say anything he like to his stud and not have to worry about prying ears. He wasn't the kind to whisper sweet nothings and tell secrets to his animal, but he did enjoy saying something to break the dreadful silence that enveloped an arena. As some would say, silence is so loud.
Adrian had stuck one ear bud in his right ear before entering the ring and now had HelloGoodBye playing in his ear as he swung the end of the rope at the brute whenever he slowed. Rodney's ears were pointed towards Adrian, his way of showing that Adrian had his complete attention. He enjoyed the times that they spent in the mornings, being able to stretch his legs after a long night in the stalls. Sometimes he even got a little frisky, as he had when Adrian had first sent him off. But Adrian felt that this would be a good day to ride, and he hoped he would accomplish something.
[OOC: Bear with me, I know nearly nothing about Dressage but I am going to try my hardest]
