JUST A LITTLE LESS OBVOIUS
i confess, tonight i'm dressed up in gold
Alex was born in Queensland, Australia to Robert and Allison Daniel. Alex's father was a renown trainer in Australia. He was particularly famous for his reining methods which led to several national championship titles. Alex's father taught him all he could possibly teach him about the equestrian world in hopes that his son would soon follow in his footsteps. Robert's big dream was for his methods to find their way into the United States. Little did he know that his own blood would carry their secrets to success to the states.
Alex traveled to the United States at the age of twenty with his three horses in hand. His first stop was in Houston, Texas. He attended a Parelli clinic there and met with Pat and Linda after their demonstration. Pat and Linda were enthusiastic about Alex's new age methods to riding and asked him to come on tour with them.
After a year of touring the states with the Parelli crew, Alex settled down in Ohio as a barn manager at one of the top reining barns. While he was browsing the internet for schools, he saw an ad from an academy requesting an reining instructor. Alex pondered on the situation for a couple of days before coming to the agreement that he was going to apply as the reining instructor. Two weeks later, Alex received a letter of acceptance in the mail from Gemala. It was a bittersweet moment leaving the barn in Ohio, but Alex knew that if he became a riding instructor for Gemara, he'd be able to influence the younger riders.

Alex walked down the dusty, hay covered aisle. Familiar horse heads poked out of their stalls, nickering to him softly. Alex paused, a half hearted smile parted his lips. He turned on his heels and faced the crowd whom all eagerly stared at him. "Treats?"He questioned the equines, allowing his thick accent to emerge from his throat. A small leopard appaloosa mare tossed her head to the burly Australian's question. A chorus of whinnies and neighs echoed down the aisle.
Alex tipped his hat to the horses and walked to what was soon to be his old office. He slowly turned the knob, savoring the loud, rusted creak which he always cursed under his breath. As the door swung open, Alex eyed the extra large sack of Manna Pro apple flavored treats. He tossed it over his shoulder and carried it into the hall. The horses rejoiced at the sound of the sack smacking against the concrete floor.
One by one, Alex visited each horse with two pockets full of treats. He refilled after each visit to a stall. Soon, all fifteen horses had their fill of treats. Alex cooed over each and every one of them, praising and telling them how proud he was of them. Once the bag was emptied, Alex took his three horses from their stalls and loaded them onto the trailer.
Once everything he owned was in his truck and on the trailer, Alex gave the barn one last goodbye before making the three and a half hour trip to their new home.
